Jeanette Henriksen

Jeanette tethers her emotions through her painting; intuitively and masterfully layering pigmented glazes and venetian plasters into a cohesive dialogue to achieve the subtle dreamy tones and timelessness she craves. The resulting works are a melange of expressive-impressionism and contemporary-realism. Each painting often takes months to achieve fruition. The painter credits her pictorial outlook and stylistic view to her Danish heritage and extensive travels in Europe. Her palette is distinctly Nordic and Old World in coloration and borrows heavily from traditional European artisan technique.

After studies at the University of Georgia and the Atlanta College of Art, Jeanette settled in  Atlanta where she began her career as an artist and decorative painter.  In 2016 she embarked on a new adventure; heeding the call of the sea, she moved to Hilton Head Island where she indulges her love of painting in evocative figurative portraits and  in moody, light infused landscapes.
